At iGood Health Centre (“we”, “our”, or “us”), we are committed to protecting the privacy of our patients and users. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle personal and personal health information in accordance with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). This applies to our website, services, and interactions with patients.

Definition of Personal Health Information (PHI)
Under PHIPA, personal health information is any identifiable information about an individual, whether in oral or recorded form, including but not limited to:

  • Physical or mental health details, including family health history.
  • Information regarding donations of body parts or substances.
  • Health numbers.
  • Payment details or health care coverage eligibility.
  • Identification of health care providers.
  • Plans of service as per the Home Care and Community Services Act, 1994.
  • Identification of substitute decision-makers.

User-Generated Content
We are not required to maintain confidentiality for any user-generated content unless specifically agreed upon or required by law. Compensation is not provided for user-generated content.

Information Collection
We collect only the necessary personal and health information required to deliver high-quality health care, administer health care systems, and comply with legal and regulatory standards. Information is gathered by fair and lawful means, with limited scope in terms of both amount and type.

Primary Purposes of Collection
For patients, personal health information is collected to:

  • Conduct research, teaching, and statistics.

Consent
We collect personal information with consent, ensuring the individual is informed about the purposes for which their information will be used. Consent may be obtained in various forms, including written or oral communication. Personal information will not be used for any purposes beyond those initially identified without obtaining further consent, unless required by law.

Data Retention
Personal health information is stored as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. If a patient closes their account, data will not be deleted immediately, but patients may request immediate deletion by contacting us at info@igood.ca.

Security Measures
Although no system can guarantee absolute security, we employ privacy protection controls, secure technology, and access restrictions to safeguard patient data. Despite these efforts, we cannot fully guarantee the security of any data transmitted to or from our services.

Data Breaches and Patient Rights
In the event of a data breach, iGood Health Centre will take immediate action to contain and investigate the incident, notifying affected patients and authorities as required by law.
Patients have the right to access their personal health information. To request access, submit a written request to our privacy officer at info@igood.ca, and we will respond within 30 days, subject to legal limitations.
Patients may also file a complaint if they believe their privacy rights have been violated. Complaints can be submitted in writing to our privacy officer, who will conduct an investigation and provide a response in a timely manner.
